Pasig receives over P650M ‘ayuda’ from national gov’t
THE City government of Pasig has received the P650,886,000 “ayuda” or financial aid from the national government on Friday afternoon.
During a radio interview, Mayor Vico Sotto said the Department of Budget and Management has downloaded a total of P650,886,000 to the Land Bank account of the local government of Pasig.
Even as the fund from the national government has already been transferred to the city government, Sotto said he and other mayors cannot immediately distribute the cash aid to the beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program as they are still waiting for the guidelines from the national government.
Meanwhile, Sotto said that the city government will quickly distribute the assistance once they receive the distribution guidelines from the national government.
Due to the surge of cases and the threat posed by the highly contagious Delta variant of the COVID-19, Metro Manila has been placed under enhanced community quarantine from August 6 to 20.
