Pasig candidates signed peace covenant

CANDIDATES in Pasig City vowed to make the 2025 midterm elections peaceful.

This after they signed a peace covenant for Secure, Accurate Free/ Fair Elections (SAFE) a day before the start of the official campaign period today, March 28.

A mass was held at the Pasig Cathedral yesterday before the ceremonial signing at around 8 a.m.

Among the peace covenant signatories were the Commission on Elections (Comelec-NCR), Eastern Police District ( EPD) director, PCol Villamor Tuliao, Pasig Police chief, Col Hendrix Mangaldan, Parish Pastoral for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) , Joint Task Force- Armed Forces of the Philippines ( JFT- AFP) and supporters of candidates attended and signed commitment to uphold the Constitution.

The peace covenant was initiated by Comelec for a peaceful, orderly and fair conduct of the 2025 midterm elections.

The candidates from two districts of Pasig vowed to be guided by the rules of the Comelec and work with a common goal of smooth, fair, honest, and peaceful elections.

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto is seeking reelection against his opponent businesswoman Sarah Discaya.

Discaya did not attend the peace covenant for unknown reasons.
