Paolo happy for LJ, no wedding plans with Yen yet
PAOLO Contis is asked to comment on the marriage of LJ Reyes to non-showbiz groom Philip Evangelista in New York. He and LJ were together for six years and they even had a daughter in 2018, Summer.
Then they parted ways in 2021. Paolo got a new girlfriend, Yen Santos, while LJ went to New York where she met Philip. So what can he say about LJ’s wedding?
“I have nothing bad to say,” he says. “Everyone deserves to be happy and I’m actually happy that she’s getting married. I wish them all the best.”
This year 2023 has been a lucky one for Paolo when it comes to his career. He has never been this busy. He’s seen daily as a host in “Eat Bulaga” and he’s also seen in “Bubble Gang.”
Not only that, he is in the cast of several movies. He did the horror-comedy “Ang Pangarap Kong Oskar” with Joross Gamboa and supported Rayver Cruz and Julie Anne San Jose in “The Cheating Game”. These movies have already been shown.
He has now completed a new romance drama with Rhian Ramos for a new film company, “Ikaw at Ako”, co-starring with Boots Anson Roa, Ronaldo Valdez, Phoebe Walker and Andrew Gan, directed by Rechie del Carmen. It has a December playdate.
And not only that, he is now in the cast of two other new movies. The first is “Fuchsia Libre” for Mavx Productions, directed by RC de los Reyes. He plays a mixed martial arts fighter who happens to be gay.
Playing his dad and coach in the movie is John Arcilla, co-starring with Khalil Ramos, Gian Magdangal and Jon Santos. The other film he has finished shooting is “A Journey”, a drama which reunites him with his “Tabing Ilog” co-stars Patrick Garcia and Kaye Abad.
“Imagine, nakagawa ako ng five movies this year and nagka-daily noontime show pa ako,” he says. “I have never been this busy and I really want to thank God for all the wonderful opportunities coming my way.”
He is turning 40 years old this coming March 2024. Does he have any plans of settling down for good with Yen Santos?
“As of now, walang plans. Dapat munang paghandaang mabuti ‘yan and right now, I feel that all these good opportunities that are coming my way are part of my preparation for my future. Darating din tayo doon, sa tamang panahon.”
