Pagcor sends aid to areas hit by Kristine in Bicol
DESPITE the challenges of transporting goods due to damaged and inundated roads, relief aid from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) finally reached Kristine-hit areas in the Bicol Region on Wednesday, October 30.
A total of 28,000 food and non-food packs were already delivered to the provinces of Albay (12,000), Camarines Sur (10,000), Camarines Norte (3,000), and Naga City (3,000).
The agency also distributed 18,500 bottles of mineral water to affected provinces as access to clean and potable water remains a problem.
Aside from these, 9,000 relief packs await pick-up and delivery to Camarines Norte and other affected areas of the Bicol Region, with the help of the Office of Civil Defense.
PAGCOR, on October 24, kicked off its massive relief drive for communities that bore the brunt of the tropical storm. The agency initially sent 2,000 relief packs to Lipa City and 3,000 to Naga City through the Angat Buhay Foundation.
The agency has prepared 63,000 food and non-food relief packs for Kristine-hit areas; 45,000 of these were already distributed to the Bicol Region, Northern Luzon, CALABARZON and Bulacan.
