Pablo, KZ, Orange and Lemons drop new singles

AFTER a week of coming out with Alom, SB19’s lead vocalist Pablo has released another album, Laon, now available on all streaming platforms.
One album after another in a span of only one week is surprisingly a new trend in recording. Before, it took an artist at least a year to release a follow to his recording. But artists today easily come out with their albums.
Pablo released the now hit tunes EDSA, Akala and Determinado as a solo artist, SB19’s leader Pablo came out with Laon, now a seven-track album.
Fans and followers of SB19 expressed their love and support to the latest musical venture of Pablo as a solo artist, now the top trending topic on X (formerly Twitter).
Ikalawa na Ba ni Olbap is also trending. Featured tracks in Laon are Neumun, Butata, Don’t Care, Puyat, Blessed, Micha and Tambal (Ibang Planeta).
Aside from being the leader of SB19, other popular members of the group are Josh, Stell, Ken and Justin. Pablo is the lead vocalist and rapper of the P-pop group.
Meanwhile, Asia’s Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan is preparing to come out with her latest single, Toyo, within the month of September.
On Instagram, KZ announced she will release Toyo at the Takeover Lounge at The Pop-Up Katipunan on September 26.
“I’ve been trying to release a new album for quite some time now,” KZ disclosed on Instagram. “Having a particular vision and sound in my head and heart can sometimes be creatively paralyzing.
“These past few months, I found myself stuck in writer’s block, unable to complete anything and it has been taking a toll on me. I felt frustrated and only wanted to get out of that rut.
“So I challenged myself to write a song that was so left-field from what I used to writing, very bright, straightforward and easy listening.
“I wrote and recorded it on my phone and laughed when I made TJ listen to it. I never intended for the song to be released because it felt like my ‘winch song,’ a song that pulled me out of the mud and I wrote out of desperation to create.
“But TJ encouraged me that releasing this song is also being truthful about my journey as an artist.”
“Sometimes, when things get overwhelming, it doesn’t hurt to take a step back and try doing something you’ve never done to refresh your mind and soul.”
“On September 26, I’ll be the happiest if you join me as we ushed in the drop of my new single, Toyo.”
Last year, KZ released Dito Ka Lang which she also penned. The ballad describes her love for her husband, Palagi hitmaker TJ Monterde, whom KZ tied the knot in Batangas last 2020. She is known for such hits as Darating Din and Mahal Ko o Mahal Mo Ako.
Alternative pop outfit Orange and Lemons enjoyed working with Miss Universe Philippines Chelsea Manalo for the music video of their 2022 hit, La Bulaqueña.
The group wanted to feature Chelsea in the project. The beauty queen, like most of the members of the band, hails from Bulacan. The band saw Chelsea’s TikTok video inspired by Juan Luna’s painting, La Bulaqueña.
“We were together for a day,” shared Orange and Lemons singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro. “She was so wonderful to work with. Very humble, not scripted. She was fun to work with.”
“Ginaya niya ‘yung painting, kung ano ‘yung suot,” added Clem. “Then sa TikTok ginamit niya ‘yung music. The timing was right.”
Jared Nerona remarked on Chelsea, “Game na game siya. Sobrang kalog lahat ng movements.”
The music video was the first to be shot inside the National Museum of Fine Arts that houses La Bulaqueña that inspired the track.
“We want to promote and the arts,” said Clem. “We are in that point in our career where it’s not only music, not just the artist, but tourism, we want to promote also. That is our way of paying it forward.”
La Bulaqueña was released on September 20.
