ShabuSOME P775 million worth of shabu were confiscated by agents of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-IG) without firing a single shot in Cavite.

PNP chief General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil earlier said that their ‘bloodless war on drugs’ will continue with more focus on rehabilitating users apart from dismantling the operations of drug syndicates.

Last September 9, two separate anti-narcotics operations launched by the PNP-DEG headed by Brigadier Gen. Eleazar P. Matta led to the capture of three rgur suspects and the confiscation of the huge volume of shabu.

Two of the suspects were arrested in a sting at Block 34, Lot 19 Lavender St., Brgy. Pasong Buaya II, Imus City around 6:26 p.m.

Recovered initially from the suspects—a 37-year-old mechanic and a 26-year-old–were a kilo of shabu valued at P6.8 million which they sold to an undercover officer of the PDEG Special Operations Unit 4-A.

Officers who rushed up the first suspect’s house in Lavender St. recovered another 109 kilograms of shabu worth P741.2 million.

Also recovered during the operation were the P1 million worth of buy-bust money and a mobile phone used by the suspects in making the drug transaction with the poseur.

Another operation inside the Villa De Primarosa subdivision in Bgy. Buhay na Tubig, Imus City led in the arrest of alias Abie, 33, at around 9:58 p.m. Monday.

Brig. Gen. Matta said that recovered from the suspect’s possession were four kilos of shabu worth P27.2 million and the buy-bust money.

The PDEG operatives conducted the operation with the help of the Imus City police.

Those operations were a follow-up to two previous major anti-drug accomplishments scored by PDEG agents recently. Suspects identified as alias Jeboy, 37, of Zamboanga del Sur, and alias Rodel, 45, of Bacoor City, Cavite, were arrested in a sting in Bgy. 676, Ermita, Manila after they conspired to sell 11 kilograms of shabu worth P74.8 million to an undercover agent.

Another two suspects identified as alias Janex, 28; and alias one Jeny, 19, were arrested in a follow-up operation in North Prenza 2 in Marilao, Bulacan.

The two yielded a kilo of shabu worth P6.8 million.

All arrested suspects are now facing charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said the official

Brig. Gen. Matta said that the PNP’s supply and demand reduction approach since the start of the Marcos Jr. administration is really showing promising results.
