Plinantsa ng tanggapan ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang agarang pagpapalabas ng P2.5 milyong cash assistance mula sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na pinamumunuan ni Sec. Rex Gatchalian para sa may 125 pamilyang nasunugan sa Barangay 58 sa Tondo, Manila noong Hunyo 16.

Ang bawat pamilya ay nakatanggap ng P20,000 mula sa Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program ng DSWD, ayon kay House Deputy Secretary General Sofonias “Ponyong” P. Gabonada Jr.

Sinabi ni Gabonada na nagdala rin ang Office of the Speaker kasama si Tingog Party-list Reps. Yedda K. Romualdez at Jude Acidre ng 400 food packs para sa mga biktima. Ang pondong ginamit dito ay mula sa personal calamity funds ng mga mambabatas.

“Through the concerted efforts of the Office of Speaker Romualdez, Tingog Party-list and DSWD, we have mobilized immediate relief for the families devastated by the Tondo fire,” sabi ni Gabonada.

“Furthermore, an additional allocation from the AICS program has been provided, ensuring each affected family will receive P20,000 to help them recover and rebuild,” dagdag pa ni Gabonada.

Nakatuwang sa pamimigay ng cash assistance at food packs ang tanggapan ni Manila 1st District Rep. Ernesto “Ernix” Dionisio Jr.

Iginiit ng tanggapan ni Speaker Romualdez ang kahalagahan ng agarang pagbibigay ng tulong sa mga nangangailangan upang malimitahan ang epekto sa kanila ng pangyayari.

“Our priority is to provide immediate and meaningful assistance to those affected by this unfortunate incident,” saad pa ni Gabonada.

“By working together with DSWD and Congressman Dionisio, we aim to alleviate the suffering of the fire victims and help them rebuild their lives as quickly as possible,” punto pa nito.

Nagpasalamat naman si Dionisio sa pagmamalasakit sa mga biktima ng sunog sa kanyang distrito.

“We are deeply thankful to Speaker Romualdez for his unwavering commitment to aiding our constituents in times of crisis,” sabi ni Dionisio.

“His (Speaker Romualdez’s) leadership has been instrumental in securing the necessary resources to help the fire victims of Tondo. This assistance will go a long way in providing immediate relief and supporting the recovery of our affected families,” dagdag pa nito.

Ayon kay Gabonada, patuloy na babantayan ng Office of Speaker Romualdez at Tingog Party-list ang sitwasyon sa lugar upang matiyak na makukuha ng mga biktima ng sunog ang kinakailangang tulong.
