Over 19M students enrolled for SY 2024-2025 — DepEd

THE Department of Education (DepEd) said they recorded more than 19 million elementary to senior high school students have enrolled for School Year (SY) 2024-2025

In a data released on Sunday, a total of 19,268,747 students enrolled in public and private schools. This also includes in alternative learning systems, state universities and colleges.

The DepEd said, in the next few days, it is expected that the number of enrollees will increase after some schools will start on Monday (July 29).

While around 979 schools will defer their opening due to massive flooding brought by Typhoon Carina enhanced by Soutwest Monsoon.

Of the total number of enrollees, DepEd data showed 16,794,173 were enrolled in public schools, 2, 244, 867 in private schools, 23,875 in SUCs/LUCs, and 205,832 in the ALS.

Data also ta also showed that the highest number of enrollments is in Region IV-A, with 2,811, 458 learners.

This is followed by Region III with 2,194, 185 and the National Capital Region (NCR) with 2,068,568 enrollees.

The SY 2024-2025 officially starts on July 29 in public schools.
