One-stop-shop for urban renewal projects in Manila
MANILA Mayor Honey Lacuna said that the city government will be boosting its Land for the Landless Program, and will prioritize more urban renewal projects in collaboration with national agencies.
Lacuna said, “There already are redevelopment projects for Manila led by DHSUD (Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development). DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) has a solar energy-powered street lights program for Manila.”
She noted that the DHSUD project in Tondo already has a presidential proclamation that set things in motion. Our role is to make sure the project proceeds smoothly on our end.”
“We will have green corridors, as well as express lanes, one-stop shops, and streamlined paperwork. We will work with the Anti-Red Tape Authority to remove every unnecessary signature and document. We will cut processing times,” the mayor said.
“We will also help DOTR, PNR, LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT remove fire hazards near the rail stations. We will work with Meralco to make underground power lines happen. Initially, in certain sections and pockets of Manila,” Lacuna disclosed.
