NPC denies ‘Michael Yang’ a club member
THE National Press Club of the Philippines refutes the claim of Mr. Jimmy Guban, during last Friday’s hearing of the House Committee on Dangerous Drugs, that a certain “Michael Yang” was connected with the NPC.
“Mr. Yang is not, and was never, a member of the National Press Club nor affiliated in any way with the organization,” NPC president Leonel Abasola reiterated.
Moreover, Abasola and the rest of the NPC Executive Officers and Directors have accepted the offer of Mr. Benny Antiporda, also one of those implicated by Mr. Guban in the controversy, to take a leave of absence as Club vice president as he prepares to address, point by point, the allegations made against him.
The NPC, as one of the oldest media organizations in the country, joins the quest for truth and calls for a resolution based on facts and without bias. By Joseph Muego
