MABALACAT CITY – The city government here, led by Mayor Crisostomo Garbo and Vice Mayor Gerald Aquino inaugurated the improved Mabalacat City Birthing Station (MCBS).

The facility located in Madapdap Resettlement Center has been offering free maternal and natal services to ensure the safety of Mabalaqueño mothers and infants during delivery and childbirth.

In his speech, Mayor Cris Garbo said the reopening of the birthing facility after months of renovation is part of his agenda in providing excellent health care and social services anchored in one of the pillars of his “Bayung Mabalacat” vision.

The city mayor added that free birthing services are a part of his “whole” health and service program, which he intends to improve further if given a fresh mandate as the city’s local chief executive.

According to Dr. Rosemarie Manalo-Liong, head of Mabalacat City Birthing Station, the reopening of the natal facility highlights the city’s celebration of “Buntis Day”.

Buntis Day aims to raise awareness of pregnancy-related issues and instill the importance of pre-natal services among pregnant women to prevent maternal mortality.

The event was attended by incumbent city councilors Doc Cocoy Tiglao, Jun Castro, and Board Member Cherry Manalo together with Officer-in-Charge of Birthing Station Dr. Rosemarie Manalo-Liong, CHO Head Dr. Claire Aquino, City Information Officer Jay Pelayo IV, and rural health physicians.
