New district collectors assigned to Ports of Limay, Subic
THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) reshuffled the Ports of Limay, Bataan and Subic in Zambales after it had newly appointed district collectors of the two big ports in Central Luzon.
Reports showed that Sandra Yap Lumontad replaced Atty. William B. Balayo – as the district collector of the Port of Limay, while Carmelita Talusan was designated as the new district collector of the Port of Subic.
Newsmen learned that Talusan has “extensive background and experience” in Customs work, having served in various positions within the BOC and successfully managed numerous projects.
In her assumption, Subic Port personnel welcomed Talusan as the new district collector of the Port of Subic.
Records showed that Talusan holds a Mass Communications degree from Maryknoll College and a master’s in Business Administration, with a Career Executive Service Officer (CESO) V rank, and has completed a Finance Course at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business.
In Port of Limay, Balayo, who broke the record for surpassing their collection targets for 18 consecutive months, said in a statement, “It is with mixed feelings that I turned over the helm of the Port of Limay to Collector Sandra Yap Lumontad, a talented and dedicated technocrat who can very well lead the Port to greater heights and to achieve that elusive collection target. Ma’am Sandra, I hope and pray for your success.”
Balayo appealed to his former staff, “who are now my dearest friends, please give your new District Collector all the assistance and support that you gave me and more. My friends, rest assured that your assistance to me is well recorded in my book of accounts, and the happy memories are engraved in my heart. These shall never be forgotten.”
