
NCRPO men arrest 4 fleeing MC thieves
FOUR men accused of stealing a motorcycle from its owner-driver at gunpoint in Valenzuela City last Thursday were arrested by the local police following a hot pursuit operation, National Capital Region Police Office director Brigadier General Anthony A. Aberin said yesterday.
The suspects aged 30, 21, 49, and 47 were identified as the men who stole at gunpoint a motorcycle being driven by its owner along the west service road in Barangay Parada in Valenzuela City.
The victim immediately reported the incident to the local police which prompted members of the Dalandanan Sub-Station to launch a hot pursuit operation as other Valenzuela City police units went to intercept the fleeing suspects and their getaway motorcycles.
Eventually, Brig. Gen. Aberin said that the local police flagged down the suspects riding ere on three motorcycles and arrested them as they tried to flee.
Recovered from the possession of the 30-year-old suspect who failed to provide his driver’s license and registration papers, was an unlicensed caliber .38 revolver with five bullets.
The other three suspects yielded six heat-sealed plastic sachets containing an estimated P30,000 worth of suspected shabu. Their three motorcycles were also impounded.
Brig. Gen. Aberin said the 22-year-old victim positively identified the suspects during a police line-up.
All four suspects were charged with violation of Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016. RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013 ) in relation to Batas Pambansa 881 or the Omnibus Election Code, resistance and disobedience to a person in authority under Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code and illegal possession of prohibited drugs under RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before a Valenzuela City prosecutor’s office.
