NCRPO joins Nat’l Human Conscious Week

THE National Capital Region Police Office joined the National Human Rights Consciousness Week 2023 celebration with Major General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. assuring the public that all their actions in the metropolis are aimed at protecting all rights of the people.

The NCRPO also marked the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights last Monday with Lieutenant Michelle Cherry Maluyo, the acting chief of the Regional Human Rights Affairs Office leading the simultaneous recitation of the “Panunumpa ng Kawani ng Pamahalaan Bilang Tagapagtanggol ng Karapatang Pantao.”

Maj. Gen. Nartatez said that to further boost human rights awareness in the NCRPO, he has ordered a continuing human rights-deepening seminar in the NCRPO headquarters and their five districts.

The seminar covers various subjects on human rights and their relevance to different law enforcement functions of the PNP.

He said that as part of the week-long celebration, he ordered the NCRPO -RHRAO personnel to inspect custodial facilities in the metropolis to ensure that respect for human rights is properly observed particularly for Persons Under Police Custody (PUPC).

Other activities this week include the conduct of Police Information and Continuing Education (PICE) covering various subjects of Human Rights and their relevance to the different law enforcement functions of the PNP personnel and hanging of streamers at conspicuous areas in their respective jurisdictions, he said.
