THE National Capital Region Police Office headed by Major General Anthony A. Aberin yesterday bared its major anti-crime accomplishments since November last year topped by the arrest of over 19,000 lawbreakers and the seizure of some P373 million worth of illegal drugs and over 1,300 loose firearms.

“This is part of our aggressive and procedure-based anti-crime stance where we have directly disrupted organized criminal activity, removed illegal firearms from the streets and reestablished the rule of law in public spaces long plagued by disregard for local ordinances,” Maj. Gen. Aberin said.

Citing official NCRPO records from November 23, 2024 to April 23 this year, the official said they conducted 4,412 anti-narcotics operations which netted 6,441 drug personalities who yielded a total of 49.056 kilograms of shabu, over 250 kilos of dried marijuana leaves, 1,734 pieces of the designer drug called Ecstasy and 2,376 grams of Kush worth P373,089,597.

“These numbers not only reflect the scope of NCRPO’s reach, but also its precision in targeting and dismantling supply chains that feed urban addiction and organized crime,” the Metro Manila police chief said.

In a determined effort to curb violence and uphold public safety, the NCRPO also confiscated 1,301 unlicensed firearms during the period.

“Each firearm confiscated is a potential threat removed, reflecting NCRPO’s commitment to ensuring that weapons do not fall into the hands of criminal elements,” Maj. Gen. Aberin said.

He added that they also launched 4,944 anti-illegal gambling operations during the period which led to the arrest of 12,199 suspects and the seizure of P2,967,138.85 in bet money.

“These focused operations disrupted illicit gambling dens that often operate under the radar, siphoning economic activity and breeding associated crimes,” the official said.

Maj. Gen. Aberin emphasized the depth behind these numbers. “We do not wait for crime to strike—we prevent it from taking root. These figures represent lives protected, communities secured, and futures reclaimed. Our success is built on action, not reaction,” he said.

The official said the major anti-crime accomplishments were the result of their Triple A Policing Framework—Able, Active, and Allied—ensuring every officer is empowered with the tools, the mission, and the community support necessary to keep Metro Manila safe.
