National Museum in Bicol to open on Aug. 8
THE National Museum in Bicol will once again welcome visitors on August 8 after nearly two months of closure.
The museum was temporary closed on June 9, 2023 in response to the alert level 3 status issued by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) for Mayon volcano, which posed potential risks to the safety of visitors and staff members.
Situated adjacent to the revered Cagsawa Church Ruins, a National Cultural Treasure, the NMP-Bicol promises to captivate visitors with its exceptional exhibitions. The spotlight will be on the unique geological landscapes of the Bicol region, with a particular focus on showcasing the magnificent wonders of Mayon Volcano.
Opening its doors from Tuesdays to Sundays, the museum will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., providing ample opportunities for visitors to immerse themselves in the region’s natural and cultural heritage.
According to the museum’s administrator, walk-in visitors will be warmly welcomed during the operating hours. Additionally, for those looking to enhance their experience through guided tours, free tours can be arranged by sending a private message to the museum.
