KAMPO HENERAL PACIANO RIZAL – Napolcom Calabarzon (National Police Commission-Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) Regional Director Atty. Leonora Bartolome made her first executive visit yesterday to Laguna Police Provincial Office (PPO) and was welcomed by Laguna Provincial Director P/Col. Cecilio Ison Jr.

In her talk to the men of the Laguna PPO, she underscored the role of the Napolcom in “exercising” administrative and operational control of the PNP (Philippine National Police), having the power to investigate police anomalies and irregularities.

Atty. Bartolome said, “Kami sa Napolcom 4A pinaparusahan namin ang police personnel na may illegal activities or may pagkukulang with the due process. Nevertheless, tinutulungan natin yung mga pulis na nagkakakaso sa trabaho but who have performed their duties within the bounds of the law.”

“Maraming erring PNP personnel pero mas marami din namang gumagawa ng tama. In fact they call the police as ‘bayani’ dahil kahit sa trabaho ng mga iba’t-ibang ahensiya ay nandun din silang gumaganap kaya naman in times of trouble na yung pulis ang nasa tama ay tama lang din na tulungan natin sila,” she added.

A conference with the chiefs of police and mobile force commanders followed wherein Atty. Bartolome suggested that PCR (Police Community Relations) activities should be enhanced to address or increase awareness of crimes and illegal drugs specifically.
