NANCY READY FOR MAKATI
On Sunday, September 8, Senator Nancy Binay took to Facebook and Twitter to post a cryptic message hinting at her political future.
“Ready to serve…” she wrote, accompanied by the hashtag #Makati2025.
The post featured a central image of Binay holding a heart-shaped sign that read “100%” which signals her readiness and full commitment to running in 2025 as Makati mayor.
In a previous interview in August, Binay was asked whether she had decided to run for mayor of Makati.
Her response was, “Most likely.” This was a shift from her earlier position, where she was contemplating the decision at “70%” and waiting for signs.
The strong clamor for her candidacy, which peaked in August, is what ultimately pushed her to make the decision.
Binay, who is currently serving her last term as a senator (2013-2025), has the full support of the Binay family, particularly her father, former Vice President Jejomar Binay.
Her mayoralty run in Makati is expected to draw significant attention as the 2025 elections approach.
