MTRCB supports rerun of Nora Aunor films
THE Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) supports the rerun of two critically acclaimed films starring the late Superstar and National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts, Nora Aunor, as part of a special tribute to her legacy in Philippine cinema.
Through the initiative of Viva Communications, Inc., the Board has reviewed and assigned age-appropriate ratings to the following films: “Beloved” (PG – Parental Guidance), a moving story of love, betrayal, and redemption that showcases Ms. Aunor’s unmatched versatility and depth as an actress, and “The Flor Contemplacion Story” (R-13, restricted to viewers aged 13 and up), a biographical drama directed by Joel Lamangan that was both critically acclaimed and controversial in Philippine history.
MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio encourages the public to see the timeless performance of Ms. Nora Aunor, whose contributions continue to serve as a beacon of inspiration and hope in the Philippine film industry and broadcast arts.
“The Board is honored to contribute in the relaunch of these cinematic works through our age-appropriate classification system, allowing different age groups to enjoy and appreciate the superstar’s artistry while promoting responsible viewing,” said Sotto-Antonio.
The MTRCB remains dedicated to supporting the preservation and celebration of Philippine cinema, especially honoring Filipino icons like Nora Aunor whose contributions have greatly shaped the growth of the Philippine film industry.
