MS. Virginia Ledesma Rodriguez, president of Act Agri Kaagapay Organization, fed thousands of Black Nazarene devotees in Quiapo, Manila during the Traslacion 2024.

From January 8 to 9, Ms. Rodriguez gave out water, food, noodles, puto and bread to devotees who attended the ‘pahalik’ and the procession for the Black Nazarene.

Ms. Rodriguez personally led the distribution of food for an estimated 25,000 devotees around the Quiapo church.

She said every year she distributes food to Black Nazarene devotees, as a way of sharing the blessing that she received from the Lord.

“Sa aking maliit na kakayanan ay napawi ko ang pagod at hirap ng mga deboto na nagpuyat para makasama sa prusisyon ng itim na Nazareno,” Ms. Rodriguez said.

It was learned that it has been a long time since Ms. Rodriguez started sharing her blessings to the less fortunate.

She added that she established the Act Agri Kaagapay Organization to be able to help more people in different parts of the country.

Ms. Rodriguez, a former reporter turned entrepreneur and philanthropist, has helped a lot of people, starting from Binondo, followed by various parts of Metro Manila to the Visayas and Mindanao.

She authored the book “Leave Nobody Hungry” which is now being used as a reference by agricultural students and farmers as “inputs” regarding the spread of organic farming in the Philippines.
