Motorcycle smashes into bus, 3 dead
THREE persons, including two minors, on Monday night died when the motorcycle they were riding smashed into a passenger bus in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan.
Police identified the fatalities as Erwin Tan, 28, John Califlores, 17, and Christine Ongkingko, 14.
The victims were drunk and were not wearing helmets when they met their tragic death.
Witnesses said the three were traveling on a motorcycle driven by Califlores upon reaching Bgy. Bagong Buhay 2, they crashed into a passenger bus from the opposite direction.
Tan and Ongkingko died on the spot while Califlores was declared dead on arrival at the Ospital ng San Jose Del Monte.
Bus driver Jerry Mendez surrendered to responding policemen.
Mendez told police that he tried to avoid the speeding motorcycle but was too late and the bus still hit the victims.
Ongkingko’s mother said she did not know Ongkingko went out with her friends on a motorcycle.
According to a village official, the place was popular for drag racing.
