Motorcycle fest ignites excitement, tourism in Clark

CLARK FREEPORT--Motorcycle enthusiasts all over the Philippines converged for the three-day Clark International Festival of Speed (CIFOS) from Nov 17 to 19 at the Clark International Speedway.

During the opening ceremony, Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, President and CEO of the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), emphasized the economic impact of the motorcycle industry on Clark, highlighting both its economic contributions and commitment to safety.

“So much economic activity is generated by your (motorcycle) group. Aside from that, you also emphasize safety. It’s not just about the ride; it’s also about riding motorcycles safely,” she added.

Johnny Tan, President and CEO of Kilton Motor Corporation, shared the vision to establish Clark as the motorcycle hub of the country, focusing on tourism.

“This 2023, we have another vision. Through President Agnes Devanadera’s guidance, we want to make Clark the motorcycle capital of the Philippines for tourism,” he said.

The festival features three days of intense action, including the National Motorcycle Grand Prix with Yamaha R3 Race of Champions across various classes such as Underbone, Scooter, Superbike and the Pirelli Cup.

Attendees can engage in diverse activities, including exhibitions, workshops, kids’ events, clinics, product launches, DIY sessions and motorcycle showcases.

Other key officials present at the event included CDC Directors Paul Christian Cervantes, Bryan Matthew Nepomuceno, Helen Nicolette Henson-Hizon, CDC Vice President for Business Development and Business Enhancement Atty. Noelle Mina Meneses, CDC Vice President for Administration and Finance Jose Miguel de la Rosa, Department of Tourism Region 3 Director Richard Daenos and Mad Dog Motorcycle Club Philippines President Steve Ayles.
