Most wanted trying to dupe cop arrested

THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) yesterday announced the arrest of a wanted person and two others who tried to defraud a cop in separate operations.

In his report to QC top cop Brig. Gen. Nicolas D. Torre III, Novaliches Police Station (PS 4) commander Lt. Col. Jerry Castillo identified the suspects as Jayson de Guzman, 32, of Bgy. Gulod, Novaliches; Cholo Quimado, 31, of Caloocan City and Lorimer Sagcud, 43, of Nova Proper, also in Novaliches.

According to Castillo, suspect De Guzman was the station’s number 5 in the list of wanted persons who has a pending warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 7610 or an Act Providing for Stronger Deterrence and Special Protection Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination.

He was arrested Thursday through a warrant of arrest issued by Acting Presiding Judge Rosly Rabara Tria of QC Regional Trial Court Branch 86.

On the other hand, Quimado and Sagcud were collared after they attempted to defraud P/SSg Ian Christopher Calina by delivering only half of the items ordered but with the same amount agreed upon.

According to Calina, he ordered assorted frozen meat products worth P12,500 from the suspects.

Upon delivery, the police officer found out that duo handed only half of the order and immediately left.

This prompted the cop-victim to arrest the suspects. He them sought assistance from PS4.

Recovered from the suspects were P12,500 as payment and the goods amounting to P6,000.

During the investigation, Sagcud presented different identification cards to conceal his real identity.

As a result, he will be charged with violation of Article 178 or using fictitious name and concealing true name apart from the prior swindling charges slapped on him and Quimado. Joel dela Torre with Paul Anthony Bacon, Chistine Joie Macalalad OJTs.
