
MIMAROPA cops nab 29 lawbreakers
TWENTY-NINE lawbreakers were hauled to jail by agents of the Police Regional Office 4-B in a string of anti-criminality operations in Mimaropa region this week, PRO4-B director Brig. Gen. Joel B. Doria said yesterday.
Eleven of the suspects who were arrested on Wednesday were all the subject of pending warrants of arrest for various criminal offenses issued by local courts, the official said.
The accused include Rosevel Selda,42, who is wanted for murder; and a 51-year-old foreign national identified as Aaron Mark Gillespie who has been ordered arrested for serious disobedience to an agent of a person in authority.
The others are facing charges for grave oral defamation, violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013, estafa, the Anti-Child Abuse Law and violation of the Fisheries Law.
Also on Wednesday, PRO4-B operatives arrested Pablo dela Rosa Sr.,55, a resident of Purok 6, Bgy. Bagong Buhay in Victoria, Oriental Mindoro during an anti-narcotics operation.
Described as a “high-value individual,” the suspect yielded two heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu, several drug paraphernalia and a marked P1,000 bill during the sting around 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Last Sunday, PRO4-B officers also arrested two most wanted men in Palawan and Oriental Mindoro provinces. The two are facing bailable charges for violation of Presidential Decree 705 or the Forestry :aw and unjust vexation.
Another suspect identified as Johffer Ocampo, 37, was apprehended in an anti-narcotics operation in Purok Pinagpala in Moreno Village, Bgy. San Manuel in Puerto Princesa City.
The suspect yielded P1,500 worth of shabu, some drug paraphernalia and the marked money paid to him by an undercover officer.
Doria said that the remaining 14 were arrested in separate anti-illegal gambling operations in the region last Wednesday.
