MIMAROPA cops arrest 9 wanted persons
NINE wanted persons in Mimaropa region were arrested by agents of the Police Regional Office 4-B in a string of manhunt operations on Tuesday, PRO4-B director Brig. Gen. Joel B. Doria said yesterday.
The official told Philippine National Police chief Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda Jr. that among the suspects arrested was the 10th most wanted man in Oriental Mindoro.
Doria said that Mark Ian Mabunga, 29, the subject of a non-bailable warrant of arrest for rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law, was tracked down in his hiding place in Sitio Napisian in Bgy. Cambunang, Bulalacao municipality.
Members of the Bulalacao Municipal Police Station, the PNP Special Action Force, and the Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office’s Intelligence Unit and Provincial Mobile Force Company, joined hands in arresting the suspect on the basis of the warrant issued by the Roxas, Oriental Mindoro Regional Trial Court.
Doria said that the other suspects were arrested for violation of the Revised Penal Code and other special laws.
All are now under the local police custody, he said.
