ONE of Metro Manila’s most wanted persons was captured by agents of the National Capital Region Police Office in a manhunt operation in Caloocan City early yesterday morning, NCRPO director, newly-promoted Major General Anthony A. Aberin said.

The suspect identified only as alias ‘Mark,’ a 37-year old delivery rider was the subject of warrants for two counts of qualified rape and an attempted qualified rape issued by Judge Barbara Aleli Briones of the Caloocan City Family Court Branch 1, the official said.

According to the NCRPO director, members of the Northern Police District Special Operations Unit under Brigadier Gen. Josefino D. Ligan captured the suspect in Bagong Silang, Barangay 176, Caloocan City around 7:30 a.m.

He said that the suspect also had a P150,000 bounty on his head offered by the Department of Interior and Local Government. No bail was recommended by the court for the suspect in connection with the rape cases filed against him.

“Let this arrest serve as a stark reminder: no one is beyond the reach of justice,” said Maj. Gen. Aberin.

“The NCRPO’s resolve is unyielding. We will tirelessly pursue those who seek to violate our laws and threat our security and order. Our commitment to the safety and security of Metro Manila’s law-abiding citizens is unwavering,” he added as he commended the NPD operatives who caught the suspect.
