Mass blood donation in Bauan
A MASS blood donation activity in the town of Bauan in Batangas has collected a total of 149 bags of blood.
The event was spearheaded by the local government of Bauan headed by Mayor Ryanh Dolor and the Batangas Provincial Blood Council led by the Provincial Health Office and Batangas Medical Center (BatMC).
According to Dr. Dan Joseph Olpindo, medical officer IV of BatMC, the activity aims to increase the supply of safe blood for the benefit of patients who need it the most.
The blood donation was also in line with the efforts of Batangas Gov. DoDo Mandanas for the province to have an easy access to adequate supply of blood.
Two of the volunteers who donated blood in Bauan, Arminda Alejandre of Poblacion IV, and Sarry Ilagan of Bgy. Bolo, shared the importance of being united in this meaningful work.
According to them, donating blood is not only a show of concern for our countrymen but also has health benefits.
Barangay health worker Segunda Delos Reyes of Bgy. San Teodoro, 62, said age is not an obstacle to continue donating blood.
Bauan Municipal Health officer Dr. Winston Ilagan and Mayor Dolor urged all citizens to join in the ongoing blood-letting activities to help save lives.
