JUMIKE Casera hit the game-winner with 0.3 second left to lift Tubigon-Bohol Mariners to a heart-stopping 62-61 win over the Dumaguete Warriors in the 2021 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas Vis-Min Super Cup basketball tournament at the Alcantara Sports Center in Cebu.

Casera’s heroics came after Joseph Marquez missed his shot against the outstretched arms of Dumaguete big man Jovannie Aguilar with nine seconds remaining.

Casera, one of four homegrown players in the team, came from nowhere to grab the rebound before sinking the marginal basket.

Casera finished with seven points and seven rebounds for Tubigon, which secured its second win.

“I designed the play for Marquez to drive strong to the basket and we were ready to live with the outcome,” said Tubigon coach Bohol head coach Gino Enriquez.

“We’re just lucky Casera was there for the rebound and the winning basket.”

Pari Llagas led Tubigon- Bohol with 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Marquez added 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Jaybie Mantilla topscored for Dumaguete with 17 markers.

Overshadowed by ZGubigon’sheRt-sgopping win was Mandaie-KCS Computer Specialist which put on a shooting display in a 82-71 victory over u dermanned Tabogon .

Four players led by Gryann Mendoza and Steve Castro scored in double figures for Mandaue, which cruised to its seventh win in nine matches.
