Marilao mayor killed in Clark road mishap
THE mayor of Marilao, Bulacan died on Sunday in a vehicular accident in Clark Freeport Zone, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.
The Mabalacat Police identified the fatality as Marilao Mayor Ricardo Silvestre, who was in the vehicle along with her secretary Karen Bonifacio driven by P/SSg. Rodel Gojo Cruz Alcantara.
Initial investigation revealed that the vehicle swerved to the left and hit a street lamp pole on Prince Balagtas Avenue, Clark Freeport Zone.
Responding CDC (Clark Development Corporation) medics headed by Aubrey Fabian brought Silvestre to the Medical City, Clark Freeport Zone, where he died later, while Bonifacio was brought to Angeles University Foundation hospital for immediate treatment.
Police said the mayor’s death was confirmed by her daughter Jackilou.
Alcantara, the driver, sustained serious injuries and was later transferred to a hospital in Bulacan.
