GRAMMY winner, pop diva Mariah Carey, 55, has released a heartbreaking statement on Monday where she announced the deaths of her mom, Patricia, 87, and older sister, Alison, 63 – and expressed her ‘heart is broken.’

Mother and daughter died on the same day over the weekend.

The singer shared she was luckily able to spend the last week with her mother before her passing, and for that she feels blessed.

“I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.

“Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day,” Mariah added.

Mariah has had a complex relationship with her siblings.

She ‘had no contact’ with older sister Alison before her shock passing on the same day as their mother Patricia’s death.

Sources said on Tuesday that the singer did not reach out to Alison before her passing, and instead was by their mother’s side in the week leading up to her death.

The sisters’ estrangement was caused by Alison’s years-long battle with drug addiction, the insiders informed the outlet.

After many attempts to help her sibling, Mariah made the decision to cut Alison out of her life in order to not be ‘an enabler’ – and put distance between the pair.

Patricia’s and Alison’s cause of death and other details are yet to be announced.

A little back story: their mother Patricia was a Juilliard-trained opera singer and vocal coach, and previously married to aeronautical engineer Alfred Roy Carey. They had three kids, Alison, Morgan, and Mariah, before divorcing when Mariah was only three years old..

Alison lived with their father, whereas Morgan and Mariah lived with Patricia.

Patricia was Mariah’s early influence in starting a music career.

According to the pop diva’s memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, she has always had a complicated relationship with her mother but they still maintained it. Mariah and Patricia performed a duet of “O Come All Ye Faithful/Hallelujah Chorus” for the “Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas to You” in 2010.

Meanwhile, Mariah has a US pre-Christmas tour scheduled for November and December and recently concluded a Las Vegas residency at the Park MGM.

Mariah is known for her songs, ‘Fantasy,’ ‘Someday,’’One Sweet Day,’ ‘Always Be My Baby,’ ‘Honey,’ ‘Vision of Love,’ ‘Emotions,’ ‘All I Want for Christmas is You,’ among others.
