Mandaluyong City Mayor Carmelita “Menchie” Abalos on Saturday confirmed that the city government has already received the over P347 million “ayuda” or financial aid from the national government.

The city government of Mandaluyong has received a total of P347,652,000 from the Department of Budget and Management.

“We got the funds na kahapon ng hapon,” the mayor said.

However, the hands of the mayors in the metropolis are still tied and cannot distribute the “ayuda” yet as they are waiting for the distribution guidelines from the national government.

Abalos said that the Metro Manila mayors were set to meet last night.

Metro Manila was placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from August 6 to 20 following a surge in the COVID-19 cases and the threat of the coronavirus Delta variant.

Due to this, the national government provided funds for the Social Amelioration Program which will benefit ECQ-affected individuals.
