
Manalo, Blinken tackle US-PH ties, climate change, clean energy
THE United States highlighted the increasing significance of the US-Philippines alliance under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
This, when US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had a conversation with Secretary Enrique Manalo to congratulate him on his appointment, Department of State spokesperson Ned Price said.
A US Department of State readout said Blinken underscored the importance of both countries alliance to the security and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific region and around the world.
He also stressed the significance of respect for human rights and rule of law.
Manalo, in a tweet said he and Blinken talked about the alliance of the two states.
“Appreciate US commitment to alliance and to PH as equal and sovereign partner in promoting peace, prosperity & international law-based order in the region,” Manalo tweeted.
The Secretary added they also agreed to continue working together on building resilient supply chains, addressing the climate crisis and transitioning to clean energy.
