Man holds 2 daughters, nephew hostage, jailed
CAMP Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga –
A MAN was arrested on Saturday for allegedly holding his two daughters and a nephew hostage inside their house in Camiling,Tarlac.
Tarlac Police director Col. Renante Cabico identified the arrested suspect as Anthony Zarate, 38, of Bgy. Anoling 1st, Camiling, Tarlac. Rescued were Zarate’s daughters Waines Yvonne, 15, and Felicity Lianne, 8; and his nephew Dan Harrold Dela Cruz, 16.
Cabico said they were informed by barangay captain Orly Agustin that the suspect held the three victims hostage in his house at around 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Responding police officers tried to pacify Zarate but he allegedly became violent and broke the glass window, prompting the cops to forcibly enter the house.
The cops arrested the suspect and rescued the victims.
Zarate will be charged with violation of RA 7610 or physical abuse.
