FOUR women’s teams eye to enter the win column today in the V-League Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena.

Lyceum of the Philippines University and Mapua collide at 2 p.m., while Enderun and San Sebastian take the floor at 4 p.m.

In men’s action, La Salle seeks to join NCAA holders University of Perpetual Help System Dalta on top of the standings as it plays Far Eastern University at 10 a.m., while Ateneo makes its debut against Emilio Aguinaldo College at 12 noon.

The Lady Pirates hope to rebound from last Friday’s 19-25, 20-25, 13-25 loss to College of Saint Benilde in a NCAA Finals rematch.

Ranged against UAAP squad Lady Tamaraws, the Lady Cardinals could not get their game going in a 13-25, 18-25, 15-25 defeat last Wednesday.

Making their V-League debut are the Lady Titans, the reigning NAASCU champions who opened their bid with a 16-25, 16-25, 20-25 defeat to a new-look University of the East side.

The Lady Stags, for their part, struggled in a 18-25, 19-25, 19-25 setback to the Lady Altas.

The Tamaraws eliminated the Green Spikers in the stepladder semifinals of the UAAP last May. But La Salle coach Jose Roque is confident his team has improved significantly since then.

“Our last season was a bit chaotic. Now, we hope for a good start that can carry over into the UAAP season,” said Roque.

“Positive results will come if they give their best effort. Even if the game isn’t flawless, we’ll work on that.”
