CABANATUAN CITY – Nueva Ecija’s longboarding pride Jelon “Bokti” Corpuz is now gone.

This after he was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Blissville, Bgy. Sta. Arcadia on January 2.

Corpuz, 29, was driving his Yamaha NMAX motorcycle when an over-speeding Sedan driven by an alleged drunk 19-year-old teenager accidentally hit him.

Due to the impact, Corpuz was thrown several meters away from his vehicle, resulting to several head and body injuries that caused his instantaneous death.

The incident occurred while the suspect was reportedly running away from a previous road mishap, where he sideswiped a car.

Corpuz, who put up Bokti Paint Works in Bgy. Sta. Arcadia after previously working in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, was a known longboarding enthusiast, who used to join local racing competitions in Nueva Ecija and Aurora.

Relatives and friends demanded justice for the victim after the alleged suspect remains at large.

It turned out that the suspect supposedly became the victim when he was shown injured riding an ambulance and admitted at a Cabanatuan City hospital in a Facebook post shortly after the road mishap.

On Sunday night, a tribute skate sesh in memory of Corpuz was uploaded on Facebook by the Aurora Longboarding group, showing the 62 kph maximum speed was reached from Ditaolag to Diteki in San Luis, Aurora.

Corpuz was laid to his final resting place at the Eternal Gardens Memorial Park in this city last Saturday..

His friends put up the #JusticeForJelonCorpuz to continue to seek justice for his death, which remains unresolved by the Cabanatuan police authorities.
