Lone bettor wins P225M Lotto jackpot
A BETTOR hit the P225 million jackpot of the Mega Lotto 6/45 draw Friday evening.
Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Melquiades Robles said the bettor from Pavia, Iloilo guessed the winning combination 14-05-44-25-01-36 with a total jackpot prize of P225,248,638.
Some 75 bettors won P32,000 each for guessing five out of the six winning digits, while 4,002 will get P1,000 each for four correct digits.
Robles said this is the third time this month that a lone bettor won the jackpot.
Winners have one year from the date of the draw to claim the prize, as specified in Republic Act (RA) 1169, and all jackpot prizes must be claimed at the PCSO main office in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
Lotto winnings of more than P10,000 are subject to 20% tax under the TRAIN law.
Earlier, a lone bettor from Iloilo City hit the P44 million jackpot of the Lotto 6/42 draw on Thursday night, while a bettor from San Pedro, Laguna bagged the P55.3 million jackpot of the Grand Lotto 6/55 on May 6.
