POLICE Regional Office 5 (PRO5) director, Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo on Wednesday announced the capture of one of Bicol region’s most wanted rape suspects.

In a report to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Dionardo B. Carlos, the PRO5 director identified the arrested suspect as Francisco Papa, a 63-year old farmer from Barangay Lanipga-Cawayan in Ragay, Camarines Sur.

Tagged as the 9th most wanted man in Ragay municipality, the suspect was tracked down in his hiding place by the local police and placed under arrest on the strength of a non-bailable warrant for rape issued by Judge Arnel Dating of the Libmanan, Camarines Sur Regional Trial Court Branch 56.

Estomo said the suspect went into hiding for months shortly after a case was filed in court against him for sexually abusing a young woman in their area.

The suspect is now being held at the Ragay police lock-up facility pending the issuance of an official jail commitment order on him by the court.
