Liga ng mga Barangay welcomes Bong Revilla during general assembly

Revilla1THE Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas (LNB), the national organization representing over 42,000 barangays, welcomed Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. during its General Membership Assembly on Tuesday at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

The event gathered around 2,500 municipal, city, independent component city, highly urbanized city, and provincial chapter presidents and board of directors, and Sangguniang Kabataan presidents from across the nation. The assembly served as a platform to discuss key initiatives and strategies to strengthen grassroots governance and community development.

Senator Bong Revilla, a staunch advocate for barangay empowerment, expressed his deep appreciation for the opportunity to engage with barangay leaders nationwide.

Having been a public servant for three decades, Senator Bong Revilla is cognizant of the importance of barangays in nation-building and in delivering front-line services of the government.

“Kayo ang unang sandigan ng ating mga kababayan. Kayo ang unang tinatakbuhan sa oras ng pangangailangan. At sa mga panahong sinusubok tayo ng bagyo, sakuna, o krisis, kayo ang unang sumusuong sa panganib. Hindi biro ang inyong ginagampanan. Hindi madali ang inyong trabaho. Ngunit sa kabila ng lahat, nananatili kayong matatag,” he emphasized in his speech.

The solon also underscored his support for extending the term of barangay officials to ensure sustained and effective service delivery.

Throughout his career, Bong Revilla has consistently worked alongside local government units (LGUs) and barangay leaders, recognizing their indispensable role. His legislative accomplishments include laws that directly impact barangays, such as the Expanded Centenarians Act, Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act, Anti-No Permit, No Exam Policy Act, and the Free College Entrance Examination Act.

“Bilang kasangga niyo sa Senado, patuloy nating isusulong ang mga adbokasiyang pinakamalalapit sa ordinaryong Pilipino – disenteng trabaho at lita, pagkain sa bawat hapag,at benepisyo para sa mga nangangailangan,”. the veteran public servant remarked.

Senator Bong Revilla’s engagement with the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas reaffirms the importance of strengthening grassroots leadership and ensuring that barangays remain at the forefront of community development and public service.
