CALATAGAN, Batangas – BATANGAS Vice Gov. Mark Leviste on Thursday expressed full support for Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s vice-presidential bid in the May 2022 elections.

“Mayor Sara has a strong-willed personality. I think it’s important for our leaders especially at the national level to have a political will and compassion at the same time,” Leviste said. “It’s a good mixture of ‘tapang na loob’ and ‘tunay na puso’”.

Leviste, the longest-serving vice governor of Batangas who holds the post for 12 years, lauded Duterte’s accomplishments as Mayor of Davao.

Duterte’s courage and compassion, he said, are two of the many qualities that make her a good leader.

He also highlighted the “sound and stable economy” that Duterte has done for Davao City.

“The mere fact that she was able to manage a zero debt fiscal standing in a dynamic city like Davao means a lot. And I hope when she becomes Vice President, she will be able to do the same for the country,” Leviste said.

He assured that he would be behind Duterte come election day as he appealed to the Batangueños to support the UniTeam vice presidential bet’s bid.

“Lilipad na ang Agila! Suportahan po natin siya [Duterte],” he added.

Meanwhile, another campaign rally for Duterte and other senatorial candidates at the Calatagan Gymnasium was held following UniTeam BBM-Sara proclamation event in Balayan, Batangas.

Local officials attended the rally from the Batangas provincial, and towns of Balayan, Calatagan, Lian, Nasugbu, Lemery, Calaca, Tuy, and Taal.
