LAPU-LAPU City-ARQ Builders threw the weight of its full force against Tubigon-Bohol, puling off a lopsided 101-67 win to secure third seed in the 2021 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas Vis-Min Super Cup basketball tournament at the Alcantara Sports Center in Cebu.

Rendell Senining, the man at the center of the controversy that hounded the league early on, came through with 20 points and seven rebounds as the Heroes finished the elims with five wins against the same number of losses.

That’s good enough for the Heroes to gain passage to the semis, which starts tomorrow.

The Heroes will take on this very same Mariners squad—which ended up with a 2-8 record—in a knockout game in the stepladder phase of the playoffs.

Game time is 3 p.m.

“This meant a lot for the team. The whole team was happy for Rendell. Nagkaroon siya ng chance to really prove his game,” said Lapu-Lapu assistant coach Jerry Abuyabor.

Reed Juntilla added 17 points, four rebounds, two assists, and a steal while Monbert Arong contributed 10 markers.

Rino Berame also stepped up for Lapu-Lapu as he came away with 14 rebounds and four blocked shots to go with his seven points.

Joseph Marquez carried the fight for Bohol with a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds.
