Key gov’t agencies tapped to help Davao del Sur
PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday brought key government agencies to Davao del Sur as part of his commitment to help the province boost its infrastructure, health, tourism and agriculture sectors.
“Alam ko po na ang prayoridad ng pamahalaang panlalawigan ng Davao del Sur ang patatagin ang mga sektor ng imprastraktura, kalusugan, kabuhayan, turismo, at agrikultura,“ President Marcos said during the ceremonial turnover of the Presidential Assistance to the farmers and fisherfolk (PAFF) in Digos City.
“Nananalig ako na maisasakatuparan natin ang mga ito sapagkat nariyan ang mga ahensyang kabalikat natin sa muling pag-ahon,“ he said.
President Marcos cited ongoing infrastructure projects spearheaded by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) such as the Matanao-Kiblawan-Padada Road and Junction Matti-Aurora Bypass Road.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is also involved in the construction of various facilities including the Tubalan and Poblacion ports in Malita; Balut Island and Mabila ports in Sarangani; and Balangonan Port in Jose Abad Santos.
These projects are in addition to the Mindanao Railway Project Phase 1 that extends from Digos City to Davao and Tagum, the President said. He said the government is looking for more funds to complete the project.
“Layunin nitong mapabilis hindi lamang ang daloy ng transportasyon, kundi pati na ang pag-usad ng kaunlaran sa inyong lugar,“ President Marcos said.
Meanwhile, the projects of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Davao Region include the Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) Online Program, Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa Program, Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Project, Negosyo Center (NC) Program, and One Town, One Project (OTOP) Next Generation.
The Department of Agriculture (DA), on the other hand, distributed 1,040 bags of yellow corn seed amounting to P6.08 million to farmers under the Seed Reserve Project.
The DA also established the Spring Development Under High Value Crops Development Program and has so far disbursed P3.41 million for the project. PCO
