KATHRYN Bernardo is still a Kapamilya.

Nitong Biyernes, February 2, tinapos na ni Kath ang mga speculation na iiwan na nito ang Kapamilya network sa kanyang pagpirma nang bagong kontrata. Lumabas ang ganitong usapin nang maghiwalay sila ng kanyang reel at real partner na si Daniel Padilla. Nauna na ang aktres sa aktor sa pag-renew ng kanyang contract. Daniel is also reported to ink his contract this February.

Tama lang ang desisyon ni Kath na manatiling Kapamilya dahil wala naman siyang ibang network na malilipatan. She is already one of the network’s queens, enjoying the royal treatment she deserves. Napaka-ungrateful naman niya kung lilipat siya ng ibang tahanan. Homegrown talent siya at ‘di siya pinabayaan ng network. Yes, she is one of ABS-CBN’s milking cows. That’s exactly why she is well taken care of. That’s showbiz! Hindi naman siguro siya nagugutom o naghihirap para maghanap pa ng ibang network. ‘Ika nga, nasa kama na siya, lilipat pa ba siya sa banig?

Her new chapter in showbiz is faced with new challenges. Obviously, Daniel is out of the equation in her showbiz career. It seems that Kath is no longer fit to sweety-goody roles. But she is more than ready for mature and challenging roles. And she has already showed that in the movie ‘A Beautiful Girl’, opposite Dolly De Leon, giving us a hint of her new direction as an actress – post KathNiel era.

Trust the think tanks of ABS-CBN, they can easily craft projects that will put Kath to a new level. First off, she is set to star in the movie titled, ‘Elena 1944’. Question is: Will her box office appeal remain strong sans Daniel? Just asking…
