THE Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) on Tuesday came up with a shortlist of candidates eyeing two vacant seats in the Court of Appeals (CA) and one in the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA).

These will be President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s first appointees to the judiciary since he took his oath last June 30.

Shortlisted by the JBC to the CA were Selma Alaras, Rosalyn Mislos-Loja, Snooky Maria Ana Bareno-Sagayo, Gener Gito, Wilhelmina Jorge-Wagan, Robert Victor Marcon, Corazon Ferrer-Flores, Josefina Siscar, Amado Paolo Dimayuga, Ermin Ernest Miguel, Acerey Pacheco, Romeo Tagra, and Rowena Tan.

Most of them are lower court judges and were interviewed by the JBC last June 7, 13, 15, 20, and 21.

Their names have been included in a shortlist to be transmitted by the JBC to Malacañang this week.

The CA associate justice posts were left vacant following the compulsory retirement of associate justices Gabriel Ingles last February 27 and Edgardo Camello last May 19.

Meanwhile, the JBC has also shortlisted ten candidates for a vacant seat in the CTA.

Selma Alaras, Rowena Tan, Romeo Tagra, Corazon Ferrer-Flores, Ermin Earnest Miguel, and Robert Victor Marcon were shortlisted.

Also included in the shortlist were Marlon Agaceta, J. Ermin Ernest Louie R. Miguel, Mark Anthony P. Tamayo, Lyn Ebora-Cacha, and Juliet Manalo-San Gaspar.
