‘Intel packets’ from PNP-IG lead to capture of wanted suspects
EIGHT wanted persons with a total of P920,000 bounty offered were arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police (PNP) last week following ‘intelligence packets’ developed by the PNP Intelligence Group, the Journal Group learned.
One of the suspects, alias Rey Juan, the subject of a P170,000 reward offered by the Department of Interior and Local Government, was tracked down in Campo 1 District in Brgy. Sainz, Mati City, said PNP-IG director Brigadier General Frankie Candelario.
Brig. Gen. Candelario said they have been instructed by PNP Director for Intelligence, Major Gen. Westrimundo D. Obinque, to go all-out in helping the national police force account for all wanted lawbreakers and help bring justice to their victims.
The official said that the accused is accused of 13 counts of murder and another warrant for two counts of attempted murder issued by different regional trial courts in Davao Oriental in 2019 and 2020.
Recovered from the possession of the suspect were one caliber .45 semi-automatic pistol, four steel magazines containing 43 live ammunition and a motorcycle.
Brig. Gen. Candelario said they got help from the Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office and the Mati City Police Station in arresting the suspect.
Two other suspects, alias Rem and Reyv, were tracked down in Brgy. San Roque, San Rafael, Bulacan.
‘Rem’ is the subject of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by the Navotas City RTC Branch 287 while Reyv was arrested for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Recovered during the operation were one cal. 9mm pistol, three magazines containing 10 bullets and shabu worth P34,000.
Alias RJ, 27, is wanted for rape and arrested along the national road in Brgy. Sta. Rita, Minalin, Pampanga.
Operatives of the RIU3 and the Minalin MPS apprehended the accused who is carrying a P130,000 bounty on his head.
The 5th, with the alias GB, 40, was arrested by members of the RIU13, the Agusan del Norte police and the PNP Special Action Force in Sitio San Roque, Brgy. Punta in Nasipit last Saturday for murder.
Brig. Gen. Candelario said that the DILG has offered a P140,000 reward for the arrest of the suspect.
The 6th, with the alias SB was arrested by members of the RIU8 and the Police Regional Office 8 last April 1 for rape issued by the Butuan City RTC Branch 1.
The DILG offered a P130,000 reward for the arrest of the accused, said Brig. Gen. Candelario.
The 7th identified as Jalal, a 46, was arrested last April 4 in Brgy. Poblacion on the strength of a non-bailable warrant for murder.
The 8th, identified as alias Mike/Kel, 30, was tracked down in his hiding place in Brgy. San Isidro, Parañaque City last April.
