HVT in Ormoc City jailed
A “high-value target” in Eastern Visayas was arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group in an anti-narcotics operation in Ormoc City which led to the seizure of nearly P250,000 worth of shabu, PNP-DEG officer-in-charge Col. Rolando B. Cuya Jr. said yesterday.
The suspect identified only as alias “Oliver,” a 31-year-old local resident, yielded some 35 grams of the shabu valued at P238,000 during the buy-bust operation in Bgy. North, Ormoc City last Monday, the official said.
Cuya said undercover officers from the PNP-DEG Special Operations Unit 8 conducted the sting, with the support of the Ormoc City Police Station, and the Police Regional Office 8.
The suspect is being held at the local PNP-DEG office facing criminal charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
