DEPUTY Minority Leader Senator Risa Hontiveros emphasized the need for full accountability following the filing of human trafficking charges against former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, Cassandra Li Ong, and others allegedly linked to illegal activities at the Porac POGO hub in Pampanga.

Hontiveros described the development as “justice in motion,” citing the extensive evidence gathered during Senate hearings, including documents, testimonies, and reported links to criminal activities.

“Our Senate hearings uncovered a mountain of evidence—documents, testimonies, undeniable links—that exposed the depth of their involvement in the Porac POGO hub,” she said.

The charges stem from alleged involvement in human trafficking, torture, and operations supporting illegal online gaming activities.

Hontiveros asserted that all individuals implicated must be held accountable through proper legal channels.

“All those who played a role in human trafficking, torture, and deceit that enabled the massive illegal operations of POGOs will answer before the law,” she stated.

Hontiveros also called for the swift forfeiture of the accused parties’ assets, proposing that recovered funds be directed to assist the victims.

“Sana ma-forfeit ang assets nila sa lalong madaling panahon at magamit ng pamahalaan para tulungan ang mga nabiktima nila. Kung gaano kalaki ang POGO sa Porac, ganun din karami ang dami ng nabiktima,” she added.

According to reports, the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed charges against Roque, Ong, and more than 40 others before the Angeles City Regional Trial Court.

The cases reportedly include qualified human trafficking and multiple counts of human trafficking.

Roque has reportedly denied the accusations, describing his inclusion in the case as an “afterthought” and stating there is no evidence directly linking him to human trafficking.

It has also been reported that Roque is seeking asylum in the Netherlands.

Hontiveros commended the DOJ for its efforts, expressing confidence in the integrity of the judicial process.
