‘Heads wil roll’
WITH his decision to hit hard at those involved in the escape of dismissed Mayor Alice Guo, President Marcos has given his administration a boost in the eyes of the people.
In fact, the Chief Executive from Ilocos Norte declared that “heads will roll” and that a full-scale investigation into Guo’s departure “is now underway.”
“Let me be clear: Heads will roll,” said President Marcos, adding “we will expose the culprits who have betrayed the people’s trust and aided in her flight.”
As a well-meaning citizen, we believe that what the culprits did is something that cannot be ignored by any Filipino.
In fact, some quarters, including the ordinary citizens across the country, said that these misguided people don’t have a place in a civilized society.
Last Tuesday, President Marcos ordered the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Justice to cancel the passport of the dismissed mayor of Bamban, Tarlac.
Government authorities are now verifying reports that Guo possibly flew out of the Philippines through the so-called back door.
Senators Sherwin “Win” Gatchalian and Risa Hontiveros have been investigating Guo and other officials for their alleged involvement in POGO operations in the country.
Gatchalian said it’s impossible for Guo to escape that easily without using an accomplice inside the airport and within government.
In a privilege speech on Monday night, Hontiveros said Guo entered Malaysia on July 18 and then went to Singapore on July 21.
The culprits need to be shocked into realization that there’s no room in this government for anyone who places personal interest above serving the people with honor, integrity and justice.
