Happy blessed birthday Roger Solis and Bobby Mendoza!

HAPPY blessed September birthday to wonderful Woodside Fil-ams, Roger Solis and Robert ‘Bobby’ Mendoza.
If parenting and hubbying were Olympic games, both would have bagged the gold medals hands down.
Their well-rounded, disciplined and respectful kids are their trophies, their contented wives the affirmation of their success. Roger and Bobby could very well be the poster boys of the popular quote, “Happy wife, happy life.”
Besides family and friends, most cherished trophies are their respective careers.
Roger and Bobby, as they are dearly called, have shared their intellectual and social excellence with New Yorkers and fellow Fil-Ams for several years.
Roger made Metrobank history by being its first union president.
Loving wife Judith bares this fun facts: “Roger’s career started in Metrobank until he was sent to Metrobank New York on 5th Avenue to head the operations and maintenance. Later on, he set up the Metro remittance office in Woodside and other offices in Hawaii, Chicago, LA. After he retired from Metrobank, he went to New York Life Insurance, up to present. He loves helping people with their financial planning, among other selfless acts. Now he enjoys life with his fishing buddies and gardening. What he enjoys more is giving away all the fish and veggies — cooked and uncooked — to friends. Another quality time for him is laughing, bowling and attending group activities with fam and friends. He relishes going home to his beloved hometown in Asingan, Pangasinan and bonding with siblings and other long-missed relatives. When he is not fishing, he would go swimming and play his other task to the hilt — as official family driver to fetch and ferry us!”
Meanwhile, Bobby is one of the darling clowns of the Merry Woodside Group. His antics and puns always elicit laughter at any gathering.
Bobby’s wife Chelo shares, “Before moving to New York, Bobby worked with Comtrust and it merged with Bank of PI. When he left Bank of P I, he was in the credit card department which was a newly opened department at that time. And in New York, his first job was with TWA (Trans World Airlines) then Blue Cross Blue Shield and then Chase bank and finally Alvarez & Marsal up to the present. He’s been with Alvarez for 22 years as Senior Accountant. His Dad passed away early. His mom is Linda . They are five and he is the eldest. He is a very full blooded Lasallite and very loyal. And of course, he and Ed Manzano are close friends.”
On his birthday, Chelo sends this heartfelt greeting: “I wish for you to stay healthy and live longer. Camille and I love and appreciate you inspite of the idiosyncrasies. You have been a very good father and husband.”
Also wishing Bobby more years of good company, healthy laughter, fine food and endless travels are his only daughter Camille, parents Linda Mendoza and Antonio Abad Mendoza (+ ); siblings Jeorgie, Willy, Tonet and Maricar; in laws Chito Calingo (+), Lani, Beth, Bob and Mike.
For Roger, Judith sends a short but sweetest greeting on his 2024 birthday: “We love you to the moon and back. You have been our rock, our inspiration, our motivation. Wishing you more years of health, happiness, love and laughter.”
Aside from Judith, also sending their birthday love are kids Rachelle and Tom, Rina, Ruzette; parents Ricardo and Teresa (+), siblings Bart, Linda Cipriano, Lito, Clarita, Myrna; and in laws Willie Beth, Henry, Thess, Cynthia and Joy.
Roger — whose name means ‘famous warrior,’ and Robert — whose name means ‘bright spear’ — have truly lived up to their tags.
Roger has gallantly stood up for the welfare and rights of others and continues to do so. Bobby keeps on livening up any crowd with his radiance and sharp witticisms.
From this corner and your Woodside barkada is a clapping ovation for touching lives and making the world stress-free and more fun-filled.
Keep it up, Roger and Bobby.
We love you. Cheers!
