TACLOBAN City — Tingog Party-list Representative Jude A. Acidre has expressed his profound gratitude to Taclobanons and Leyteños for the support they showed for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and his Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial candidates.

Acidre, chairman of the House Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs, thanked his kababayan here in Tacloban and Leyte for the huge attendance in the Alyansa grand rally on Friday, March 14.

“Tulungan natin na magkaroon ng mga katuwang sa Senado si Pangulong Bongbong Marcos para ganap nating matupad ang kanyang hinaing para sa isang Bagong Pilipinas, isang bansa kung saan walang isang Pilipinong maiiwan, kung saan tayong lahat ay nagtutulungan at kung saan abot kamay natin ang isa mas maliwanag na kinabukasan,” Acidre said in his speech.

The Tacloban City police estimated the crowd at 100,000.

Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez and Tingog Party-list played host to the President and his administration coalition candidates.

Acidre said the large attendance “reflects the wide support President BBM and Speaker Romualdez enjoy in Tacloban, Leyte and Eastern Visayas.”

The crowd estimate in Tacloban came from the city’s police director, Col. Noelito Getigan.

In a letter to Glenn Haro Capucion, Tingog Part-list president, on Friday, Getigan said: “This refers to grand rally of Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas with His Excellency, President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ R. Marcos Jr. held in Tacloban City last March 14, 2025.”

“In this regard, as per assessment of this office, the said grand rally was attended by an estimated number of more or less 100,000 people,” he said.
