PRESIDENT Marcos has lifted the suspension order against the chair of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, which is under the Department of Transportation..

This after Jefferson Gallos Tumbado executed an affidavit recanting his corruption allegations against suspended LTFRB Chair Teofilo Guadiz III, a native of vote-rich Pangasinan.

After the lifting of the suspension order, which was announced by the Office of the Executive Secretary, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista reinstated Guadiz as LTFRB head.

“In the exigency and best interest of service, Assistant Secretary Teofilo Guadiz III is herely reinstated as chairperson of LTFRB effective 6 November 2023,” said Bautista.

Last month, President Marcos suspended Guadiz after Tumbado accused his former boss of alleged corruption in securing franchises, particularly for modern jeepneys.

Chairman Guadiz repeatedly denied the allegations of Tumbado, who later recanted his accusations that his former boss was involved in questionable activities.

“Mabuti naman at natauhan si Tumbado. Malamang na nakonsensiya siya dahil Kung hindi ay baka tuluyan ng nasira ang career ng isang taong walang kasalanan,” a Pangasinense said.

An Ilocano, the elderly Pangasinense was also quick to commend Palace officials for acting swiftly “para mabalik kaagad sa puwesto ang suspendidong opisyal.”

Malacanang’s swift action in lifting the suspension order against Chairman Guadiz is “ample proof” that the administration of President Marcos is certainly fair and just.
